Pet Transport in Torrevieja — Door-to-Door Pickup
With close to a hundred thousand residents, Torrevieja is the big town on the southern coast of the Vega Baja del Segura: pink salt lakes, habaneras, twenty kilometres of coastline and a huge map of urbanisations where local families live alongside residents from all over Europe. Hatchi collects your dog or cat at your front door and takes them, in a van reserved for your family alone, to the vet, the groomer, the boarding kennel or the terminal, and brings them back when it's time.
Here the address matters a lot, because Torrevieja isn't just the centre and the Juan Aparicio promenade. We pick up in La Mata, by its natural beach and its lagoon; in Torreblanca, halfway between La Mata and the town centre; in Los Altos and Aguas Nuevas, with their townhouses and residential complexes with pools; and as far as Punta Prima, on the border with Orihuela Costa. Many streets have similar names from one urbanisation to the next, so on WhatsApp we'll ask you for your exact location or the name of your complex and where the gate is, so the driver gets straight there and your pet isn't left waiting on the pavement.
For an emergency you don't need to leave town: Pet Doctors, Torrevieja's vet hospital, is open day and night on Calle Guridi, about five minutes from the centre. If the appointment is further away, Hatchi's Alicante base is about 68 km by road, a little under an hour, and Alicante-Elche airport at El Altet about 60 km, also around fifty minutes via the N-332 or the AP-7. The Region of Murcia airport at Corvera is a similar distance. It's worth allowing for that when the family is travelling with their pet and needs to be at departures on time.
Many people in Torrevieja live here only part of the year, no longer drive, or keep their car in another country. For them, someone collecting the dog for its vaccination or a dental clean and bringing it back with a message on their phone is the difference between going and putting it off again. And if you want to take your dog to the beach, check with the town hall which area allows dogs this year: we haven't been able to confirm an official dog beach on its website. If you end up going to one in another town, we can take you there and pick you up.

We cover the whole municipality: La Mata, Torreblanca, Los Altos, Aguas Nuevas, Punta Prima and the centre. In the big urbanisations we'll ask you on WhatsApp for your location and your door or plot number, so we don't drive round in circles.
What happens if my dog falls ill on a Sunday night in Torrevieja?
The Pet Doctors hospital on Calle Guridi is open day and night and a few minutes from almost anywhere in town. Our hours are 8:00 to 20:00, so in the small hours go straight there; we can take your dog to the follow-up visit the next day. Outside our hours, ask us about emergencies.
Can you drop my cat at the Alicante-Elche terminal when we leave?
Yes. From Torrevieja it's about 60 km, around fifty minutes, and we leave with time to spare so the family arrives calmly at departures. If someone is travelling with the pet, they can ride in the van with it.
Will you let me know when you collect and drop off my pet?
Always. We message you when your pet gets into the van and again when we drop them at the vet, the groomer or the boarding kennel. If you're outside Spain, the messages still reach your WhatsApp.
