Pet Transfers to Alicante-Elche Airport

Getting to the El Altet terminal with a big dog and its carrier is where a lot of trips go wrong. The rules leave it up to each taxi driver whether to take a dog or not (Elche's taxi by-law lets drivers refuse when what you're carrying could damage the car), and a large carrier won't fit in the boot of most cars.

At Hatchi the van is reserved for you alone, with room for the carrier and your luggage. We pick you up at home, at your hotel or at your holiday flat, drop you at departures with time to spare and wait for you at arrivals on the way back. We have been working across the Alicante area since 13 October 2026.

Private trip: only your family's pets travel. We never share the van with pets from other families or combine bookings from different customers. And if you like, you come too.

Good to know about the terminal

Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández airport is at El Altet, within the municipality of Elche, about 10 km from Alicante and about the same from Elche. You get there on the N-338, which links up with the A-70 and the A-7.
Aena has a pet area inside the terminal, on floor 2, the departures and check-in floor. It's handy for letting your dog stretch its legs before going in.
Next to the building there are express departure and arrival car parks with 10 minutes free. If we're driving, you don't need to worry about any of that.
From the centre of Alicante it's about 15 km by road, a good quarter of an hour without traffic; from Benidorm, about three quarters of an hour; from Torrevieja, about 50 minutes.

How we organise it

You tell us on WhatsApp what time you need to be at the terminal, where you're leaving from and the size of your pet and its carrier.
We plan the pickup with time to spare: with a pet, check-in always takes longer than expected.
You travel in the van, reserved for you alone, with the carrier safely secured.
We drop you at departures, by the entrance, with all your luggage.
On the way back, we wait for you at arrivals and take you home or to your hotel.

If your pet travels alone

We take your pet from home to the drop-off point set by the company it is travelling with, along with its documents and its carrier.

And the other way round: we collect your pet when it arrives and take it home, even if you're not there yet. We let you know at pickup and at drop-off.

The drop-off requirements (time, documents, type of carrier) are set by that company. Send them to us and we'll work to them.

Frequently asked questions

Will a large dog carrier fit?

Yes. The van is reserved for you alone, so there's room for the large carrier and your luggage. Tell us its measurements when you book so we can have everything ready.

Where do you drop us off and pick us up?

We drop you on the departures floor, by the terminal entrance, and on the way back we wait for you at arrivals. We confirm the exact spot on WhatsApp.

Is there somewhere at the airport for my dog to relieve itself?

Yes. According to Aena, the terminal has a pet area on floor 2, the departures floor. It's a good idea to stop there before going to the check-in desk.

Which towns do you come from to the airport?

From the whole province of Alicante and from the towns in Murcia and Albacete within 100 km of our base in Alicante city, since 13 October 2026.
