Pet Transport in Dénia — Door-to-Door Pickup

Hatchi's white branded van with a husky looking out of the passenger window

The capital of the Marina Alta, Dénia lives facing the Montgó and the sea: almost twenty kilometres of coastline, a castle above the old town and a port with ferries to the Balearic Islands. It has around 47,000 residents all year round, and in summer that figure multiplies several times over. Here Hatchi takes your dog or cat door to door, in a van reserved for your family alone, to the vet, the groomer, the boarding kennel or whichever terminal you need.

Few towns change so much from one month to the next. To the north stretch Les Marines, with sandy beaches such as Les Deveses, the longest in the municipality; to the south, Les Rotes and its rocky coves on the way to Cap de Sant Antoni. In between are the town-centre neighbourhoods, the port and the villages of La Xara, Jesús Pobre and La Pedrera. Many homes are in urbanisations on the slopes of the Montgó, where you can't get anywhere without a car and, in August, parking near a vet is a small odyssey. That's where a pickup at your front door really makes a difference.

You have a vet hospital open day and night in town: AniCura Marina Alta, in the Madrigueres Nord area, about three kilometres from the centre and under ten minutes by van. If your usual vet is elsewhere in Dénia or in Ondara, Pedreguer or Xàbia (Jávea), we'll take you there too. Alicante-Elche airport at El Altet is a little over a hundred kilometres away, about eighty minutes on the motorway without traffic, and Hatchi's Alicante base about ninety kilometres.

Most of the people who contact us from here fit one of three profiles: European residents who spend much of the year in the Marina Alta, second-home families arriving or leaving with their dog in tow, and older residents who no longer drive. You don't need us to get out of the Torrecremada or La Pedrera dog park, but you do for a check-up under sedation, a long grooming appointment or a trip to the port on the day you sail. We let you know when we collect your pet and when we drop them off, and if you want to go with them, there's room.

Private trip: only your family's pets travel. We never share the van with pets from other families or combine bookings from different customers. And if you like, you come too.

Frequently asked questions

How much does pet transport from Dénia cost?

It depends on the route and the destination. Message us on WhatsApp at +34 633 14 36 49 and we'll send you a no-obligation quote. We reply every day from 8:00 to 20:00.

Can you take us to the port of Dénia with our dog?

Yes. We pick you up at home, in Les Rotes, Les Marines or wherever you are, and drop you and your pet at the ferry terminal with time to board. We can also collect you on arrival if you're coming back from the islands.

Do you pick up in the Montgó urbanisations and in Jesús Pobre or La Xara?

Of course. We go up to the urbanisations on the hillside and out to the villages. We just need the exact address or your location on WhatsApp, because some streets don't show up properly on sat navs.

What if my cat falls ill on a Sunday afternoon?

We work every day from 8:00 to 20:00. Within those hours we can take your cat to AniCura Marina Alta, which is open day and night, and wait or come back for it when they call you. At night, call the hospital directly. Outside our hours, ask us about emergencies.

How long does it take from Dénia to the Alicante-Elche terminal?

Without traffic jams, about an hour and twenty minutes. In July and August it's best to leave earlier. We pick you up at home, you can travel with your pet if you like, and we drop you at departures.
