Orihuela has two faces that barely touch: the historic town of the cathedral, the San Antón palm grove and Miguel Hernández's house, and, about thirty kilometres away, Orihuela Costa, a string of beaches and urbanisations facing the Mediterranean. This page is about the coast. Hatchi collects your dog or cat at your front door and takes them, in a van reserved for your family alone, to the vet, the groomer, the boarding kennel or the terminal, and brings them back when it's time.
Orihuela Costa is a world of its own: Punta Prima, Playa Flamenca, La Zenia, Cabo Roig, Villamartín and Dehesa de Campoamor, with dozens of urbanisations and a large share of residents from northern Europe. Many of them don't have a car here, or have family visiting for weeks at a time. With so many complexes and similar street names, on WhatsApp we'll ask you for the name of your urbanisation and your house number, so the driver goes straight to your door.
For an emergency, the nearest option from the coast is usually Pet Doctors, the vet hospital in Torrevieja, a few kilometres up the N-332. Alicante-Elche airport is between 40 and 50 km away, and the Region of Murcia airport at Corvera is a similar distance: we drop your pet, and whoever is travelling with them, at departures, or collect them at arrivals and take them straight home or to the boarding kennel.
Day to day, the trips that suit Orihuela Costa best are short ones that get complicated because of timing: the groomer mid-morning when you're both at work, a check-up for an older cat whose owner no longer drives, or the boarding kennel over Easter, when the coast fills up. We let you know when we collect your pet and when we drop them off, and if you want to go with them, there's room.
Private trip: only your family's pets travel. We never share the van with pets from other families or combine bookings from different customers. And if you like, you come too.

Heading back to the UK or Norway with your dog?
Before you travel, your dog needs the right papers and, for both countries, a tapeworm treatment given by a vet between one full day and 5 days before you arrive. We've put the official requirements together in our guide to taking your dog back to the UK or Norway, and we can take you to the vet and then to the terminal.
Frequently asked questions
How much does pet transport from Orihuela Costa cost?
It depends on the route and the destination. Message us on WhatsApp at +34 633 14 36 49 and we'll send you a no-obligation quote. We reply every day from 8:00 to 20:00.
Do you pick up in La Zenia, Cabo Roig or Campoamor?
Yes, Orihuela Costa is part of our area just like the town. We pick up in Punta Prima, Playa Flamenca, La Zenia, Cabo Roig, Villamartín and Campoamor; we just need the name of the urbanisation and the house number.
Which vet hospital is open at night near Orihuela Costa?
From the coast it's usually best to go to Pet Doctors in Torrevieja, a few kilometres away, which is open day and night. We work every day from 8:00 to 20:00 and can take your pet to the follow-up visits. Outside our hours, ask us about emergencies.
Can you take us to Alicante-Elche or Corvera with our dog?
Yes. Alicante-Elche is between 40 and 50 km from Orihuela Costa, and Corvera a similar distance. We pick you up at home, you can travel with your pet if you like, and we drop you at departures. We can also collect you at arrivals.
Can I go with my dog in the van?
Yes, one person can travel with them. It's common when the dog is older, when it's going for a test and the vet wants to talk to you, or when you're heading to the terminal together.
