The blue-tiled dome of the Church of the Consol, at the top of the old town, is Altea's postcard in the Marina Baixa: narrow white streets, artists, a pebbled bay and the Bèrnia mountains behind. It has about 24,700 residents, spread between the centre, Altea la Vella and the urbanisations on the coast and in the hills. We take your pet in our own van, never shared with pets from other families, to the vet, the groomer, the boarding kennel or the airport.
Altea is really two places. In the centre, near La Roda beach or the port, the slopes and the lack of parking make getting around with a big dog awkward. Further out, in urbanisations such as Altea Hills, Mascarat or the Cap Negret area, or in the houses of Altea la Vella, you can't get anywhere without a car. Either way, we come to your door, help your pet in and message you when we collect them and when we drop them off. If the appointment is in Benidorm, in Calpe or in Altea itself, the trip is short and we bring them back quickly.
You have a vet hospital open day and night very close by: AniCura Marina Baixa, in l'Alfàs del Pi, about 7 km away, barely ten minutes on the N-332. From 8:00 to 20:00 we can take your pet there and collect them, or to the vet clinic of your choice. Alicante-Elche airport is about 66 km away, around fifty-five minutes on the AP-7, and Hatchi's base about 53 km. If your pet needs a test or a planned operation, we collect them when they're discharged and bring them home calmly, with no rush on the road.
For decades Altea has drawn residents from all over Europe, many of them retired, and second-home owners who spend a few months here. The service is designed for them: taking the dog to the groomer, dropping it at the boarding kennel before a trip or getting it to the terminal with you. Do you pick up in Altea Hills or Mascarat?
Yes. If the urbanisation has controlled access, let the gatehouse know we're coming or send us directions. We drive right up to the door of the villa or the building, and if your dog is big or older, we help them in calmly.
How far is the emergency vet hospital?
AniCura Marina Baixa, in l'Alfàs del Pi, is about 7 km from the centre of Altea and is open day and night. During the day we'll get you there in about ten minutes; at night, outside our hours, call them and go straight there. Outside our hours of 8:00 to 20:00, ask us about emergencies.
Can you drop my dog at the Alicante-Elche terminal with us?
Of course. We pick you all up at home, dog included, and drop you at departures, less than an hour from Altea. We also do the trip the other way from arrivals, even if the scheduled time changes.
