The Penyal d'Ifac, a 332-metre rock joined to the mainland by an isthmus, is the silhouette of Calp (Calpe). Around it stretch the Arenal-Bol and La Fossa beaches, the salt flats and a seafront lined with apartment towers. The town has about 27,500 residents, and almost half are foreign nationals. Hatchi takes your pet to the clinic, the groomer, the boarding kennel or the airport terminal, in a van that never carries pets from other families.
In Calpe the challenge usually isn't the distance but the parking. Between the old town, the fishing port, the seafront blocks and urbanisations in areas such as La Cometa, Oltà or Enginent, finding a space near a clinic in high season can take longer than the trip itself. We come to your door, go up to collect your dog or cat if needed, and bring them back home. If you want to go with them, you ride in the van too. We also do trips between Calpe and neighbouring towns such as Benissa or Altea, when your usual clinic or groomer is there.
The nearest vet hospital open day and night is AniCura Marina Baixa in l'Alfàs del Pi, about 19 km away, twenty to thirty minutes depending on traffic on the N-332. If you prefer Dénia, there's also AniCura Marina Alta. From 8:00 to 20:00 we can do that trip, or the one to your usual clinic. Alicante-Elche airport is about 77 km away, roughly an hour, and Hatchi's Alicante base about 64 km. If you're arriving in Calpe on holiday with your dog, we can also collect you at the terminal and drop you at your apartment.
Calpe is one of the few towns in the area with an official dog beach: Cala Les Urques, a small cove of rock and pebbles next to the Puerto Blanco marina, where the town hall allows dogs to swim all year round. Many retired northern Europeans live here all year, and many second-home owners come for the season. We ask everyone the same thing: a WhatsApp message with the day and the address, and we'll confirm your pickup time.

Yes, we do any trip within Calpe, including that one. We drop you and your dog as close as possible to the cove, next to Puerto Blanco, and come back for you at the time we agree.

Yes, we go up for them and bring them down in their carrier or on the lead, whichever they're used to. That way you don't have to look for parking on the promenade.
